Former Police PRO Show Contentment Over Naira Marley Case It is no longer news that the popular Nigerian indigenous rapper known as Naira Marley has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The arrest was made on Friday, May 10, 2019 which shows that the rapper has been in detention for a week now. Today, some thugs were spotted at the front gate of the EFCC office seeking the immediate release of the popular rapper. Azeez Adesina Fashola aka Naira Marley has been slammed with a 11-count charge on Internet fraud aka ‘Yahoo Yahoo’. Count 9 reads
: “That you, Azeez Adeshina Fashola, aka Naira Marley on or about the 10th day of May 2019, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court with an intent to defraud, possessed counterfeit card with No. 4921819410257431 issued to Timea Fedorne Tatar and you thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 33 (9) of the Cyber Crimes (Prohibition, Prevention, ETC) Act, 2015.”
Before the arrest, he had posted a video supporting internet fraud and has even released a song titled, ‘Am a Yahoo Boy” where he featured another rapper Zlatan Ibile.
